Invasive Veg Solutions Inc. provides professional herbicide application for vegetation management projects throughout Northeastern and Central Ontario. Application is carried out as part of a defined vegetation management objective — controlling a specific invasive species, maintaining a corridor, or preparing a site — rather than as blanket treatment.
Herbicide is one tool among several. It is appropriate on some sites and not on others. Where it is appropriate, the value of professional application comes from product selection, application method, timing, coverage and restraint: treating what needs treating, and leaving what does not.
Targeted Application Methods
Different sites call for different application techniques. On a dense monoculture stand, broadcast or boom application may be efficient. Where the target vegetation is scattered through desirable native growth, spot treatment or stem-specific techniques limit off-target effect.

Product Selection and Regulation
Pest control products used in Canada must be registered by Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency for the intended use, and the label is a legal document. In Ontario, provincial rules govern licensing of applicators and the circumstances in which products may be used, with additional considerations for application in or near water and on public lands.
Product selection follows the target species, the surrounding vegetation, the proximity of water, the season, and the label. We will tell you when herbicide is not the appropriate tool for a site.
Conditions, Timing and Drift Management
Weather conditions at the time of application affect both results and off-target risk. Wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity and the likelihood of rainfall all influence whether an application should proceed. Nozzle selection, pressure, boom height and product formulation are used to manage droplet size and reduce drift.
Application timing is also biological. Treating outside the window when a plant is actively transporting resources to its roots can produce visible top-kill with little effect on the underlying plant, which is one of the most common reasons a treatment appears to work and then fails.
